2. YEARBOOKS will be distributed to seniors on June 9, from 6 - 8 pm, and to underclassman during lunch on June 10. Seniors must pay their senior dues to receive a yearbook; underclassmen must purchase a yearbook for $50 at the finance office. Check the sales list in the hallway outside of room 513 to check that you have purchased a yearbook. There are only about 125 books left. -Ms. LeCren
3. Heads
up underclassmen! Remember anyone going to the prom must be
present for at least four periods the day of prom. Poli Sci and Math DO
NOT COUNT towards the four periods.
4. The CUM LAUDE SOCIETY Induction Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 3, during period 2, in Parker Auditorium. The 66 nominees to Cum Laude should plan to attend (a letter was delivered to you via your English teacher). If you have any questions, please contact Ms. LeCren in Room 513. -C. LeCren
5. Design the new student planner cover for the 2008-2009 school year! Come pick up an application in the ASB room (304) and show off your creative skills! They are due May 30. (Mr. Cavaiola)
6. Attention LJHS Students: Do you want to see your work of art displayed on the cafeteria wall? Please submit your ideas to room 502 before school or during lunch. It has to be on an 8 l/2 x 11 sheet of paper and it has to be school spirited in color. This is part of an effort to remodel our cafeteria! (Shelburne)

8. Attention Entrepreneurs Club Members: There will be a meeting tomorrow during lunch in room 309 and we are having two guest speakers. They are Robyn and Rafael Gross and they have started their own in home business. Come and find out what they did to make themselves the best. (Mr. Lawrence)
9. Annual
Blood Drive - One pint saves from 1 to 5
lives. Sign up to donate blood in room 903 or in the lunch court. (Mr. Teachworth)
10. All 9th, 10th, and 11th graders: The cafeteria will be accepting applications to work during lunch for school year 2008-2009. We pay $8 for about 20 minutes work and you get free lunch too! For inquiries and applications please contact Vanessa, site leader in the cafeteria. Good grades and honesty are required!
11. Tickets for the Fashion Show go on sale starting Monday, May 19. Prices are $5 for the 5pm show and $7 for the 7pm show. Please come and support the Mariner’s Club which puts on this Fashion Show every year to raise money for scholarships for LJHS students. Thank you, Ms Berg.
12. Congratulatons to Paul Bixler and Greg Kinsel and the statistics team. They placed first again in the second annual UCSD/GSDMC Honors Statistics Contest. Ben Cosman placed first overall in the individual performance; Jimmy Ready placed sixth overall. The team members were: Jennifer Chen, Ben Cosman, Kaidi Liu, and Jimmy Ready. Great job one and all!
13. Congratulations La Jolla High! Thanks to The Impact Campaign, our seatbelt wearing increased from 89% to 97%! Thanks for your help! Remember, stay buckled up! (Mr. Cavaiola)
SENIORS:
1. Prom is early this year!!!! Mark your calendars for Friday, May 16th.
Tickets are available lunch through the 16th. The price of
prom is included in your senior dues, however if you bring a date from another
grade or a different school, you must pay for their ticket ($50). All seniors
must register at the ticket tables to attend. Remember anyone going to the prom must be
present for at least four periods the day of prom. Poli Sci and Math DO
NOT COUNT towards the four periods.
The night will be “Unforgettable”,
so don’t miss out.
2. Seniors,
come to the “biggest graduation party on earth”!
3. Seniors: I'm gathering
information for the Invitational Senior Awards Assembly on June 2, 6:30
pm, in the Auditorium. Did you or will you receive a scholarship, first
place award, appointment, etc? If so, I need you to fill out an
information sheet for me or you can send an e-mail to me: sstruhar@sandi.net
I will have the Information Sheets in front of my office. Don't wait
until the last minute, it requires some planning. Not sure about an award?

4. SENIORS: vote for 2008
Prom Court when you picked up your Prom bid at lunch. The nominees are: Brady Miller, Angel Rojas, Michael Boland,
and Richard Zhang for King; Delaney Maher, Aditi Shah, Wendy Diaz, and Jessica
Murphy for Queen. (Mr. Cavaiola)
5. SENIORS: Starting June 2, please submit your requests for FINAL TRANSCRIPTS. If you have a form bring it along with a stamped, addressed envelope to the college you will attend. Also, bring a second envelope stamped, addressed to yourself at your home address, and $1.00 for each transcript to Ms Solberg in the Registrar’s office. (REMINDER: postage is going up in May—attach a 42cent stamp for your envelopes)
6. SENIORS: Valedictorian, Salutatorians, Upper 10% and
Academic Distinction is now posted in the Registrar’s office. Please check the spelling of your name.
7. SENIORS: Ms Solberg will be collecting $10.00 for the Academic Distinction cord for your graduation ceremony. You may pick up cords and pay Ms Solberg starting in June. Ms Solberg will be available before school, during lunch and after school.
